CCL Action Teams – DELETE LATER

Action Teams provide structure by sharing the responsibilities of our work. If you’d like to learn more about an action team, you can contact the coordinator(s).

Grassroots Outreach
The goal of grassroots outreach is for CCL chapters is to educate the public and recruit fellow community members to join CCL. There are many ways to reach those goals including tabling at various events, scheduling and giving presentations, and hosting film screenings, socials, and other get-togethers.
Tabling – David Gurk, Coordinator
Presentations – Clark McCall, Coordinator

Events
The events action team decides on and then organizes events to help educate the public about climate change and carbon pricing. Examples include a panel discussion about carbon pricing and a free showing of “Paris to Pittsburgh” . Signing up to bring food or greet people at an event is an easy way to get involved.
Nadine Wang, Coordinator

Media
CCL works with the media (social media, print, radio, and TV) to raise awareness about climate change and educate the public about carbon pricing. Team members maintain our social media presence, write letters to the editor and opinion pieces, meet with editorial boards in order to encourage them to write editorials, and appear on radio and television for interviews regarding both CCL and our policy.
Leo Gnatovskiy, Coordinator

Chapter Development
Members of this team can help organize chapter activities, maintain the website, enter data, read and summarize articles about climate change for other members, make copies for meeting, etc. It’s through our chapter’s growth and development that all other activities are realized.
Ginny Rogers, Coordinator

Grasstops Outreach
Members of this team focus on educating and building relationships with influential members of the community, whose opinions are likely to carry weight with our MOCs, other “influencers” and the public. These influencers can include locally elected officials, business owners, educators, health care providers and faith leaders. We encourage them to endorse action on climate change and passage of carbon fee and dividend legislation.
Leah Gillon, Coordinator

Lobbying
Lobbying involves the work to create and grow the relationship between constituent volunteers and their members of Congress. This includes meeting with elected members of both the Senate and House of Representatives, educating them about our policy as well as the science of climate change, and constantly maintaining a positive, respectful relationship with them and their staff. This also includes any constituent contact with their member, via social media, town halls, or writing letters to the Members.
