November 2, 4-6pm, Rackham Auditorium.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thefilm.thischangeseverything.org\/screenings\/\" target=\"_blank\">Screenings of the film <i>This Changes Everything<\/i>.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/forum\/#%21forum\/citizens-climate-lobby-ann-arbor\" target=\"_blank\">Ann Arbor CCL Google Group<\/a>.\u00a0 To join the group, visit the web site and then click on the link to subscribe.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/weather\/paul-gross-hosts-webcast-on-climate-change-wednesday-at-1230-pm\/35698982\" target=\"_blank\">Recorded October 8 webcast<\/a> of Local 4 meteorologist Paul Gross talking about climate change.<\/li>\n<li>Information about the <a href=\"http:\/\/citizensclimatelobby.org\/gibson-climate-change-resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gibson Resolution (HR 424)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Guest post on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclectablog.com\/2015\/10\/guest-post-congressional-republicans-begin-to-move-toward-sanity-on-climate-change-with-the-gibson-resolution.html\" target=\"_blank\">Eclectablog.com<\/a> about the Gibson Resolution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have a great opportunity to do some outreach in Detroit and expand CCL&#8217;s presence there.\u00a0 If you can spare a couple of hours on October 23-25 to help with tabling at the Great Lakes Bioneers conference at Marygrove College in Detroit, <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/10c0d4fabad22abf94-ccltable2\" target=\"_blank\">please sign up here<\/a>.<\/b> At a minimum, we need one person for each time slot, though it is nice to have 2 people.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re new to tabling, you can sign up to work with someone else.<\/p>\n<p><u><b>Meeting Summary<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><u>National Call<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you would like to listen to a recording of the call, access it <a href=\"http:\/\/ccl.podbean.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>CCL Legislative Director Danny Richter gave a brief summary of how the Gibson Resolution came about.\u00a0 You can listen to a 15 minute podcast in which he explains more of the details <a href=\"http:\/\/ccl.podbean.com\/e\/gibson-resolution-acknowledgements-and-background\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The guest speaker, Dr. Patrick Verkooijen of the World Bank, spoke about the World Bank&#8217;s involvement in dealing with climate change, and specifically, how they have been advocating for carbon pricing to be part of the Paris climate negotiations.<\/li>\n<li>CCLs involvement in the Paris climate negotiations: <a href=\"http:\/\/PathwayToParis.org\" target=\"_blank\">PathwayToParis.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mark Reynolds explained the two-fold purpose of the targeted lobby day on November 17.\u00a0 First, to brief members of Congress on the results of our June lobbying.\u00a0 Second, to invite them to attend briefings on carbon pricing and carbon usage given by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Resources for the Future<\/a>, a top economic research firm in DC.<\/li>\n<li>CCL volunteer Rob Hogg is running for US Senate in Iowa.<\/li>\n<li>Rear Admiral David W. Titley (ret.) is the newest member of CCL&#8217;s advisory board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Local Discussion<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Accomplishments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>MK described her efforts to contact all of the Washtenaw County Commissioners to seek their endorsement of Carbon Fee and Dividend.<\/li>\n<li>We did tabling at several events: UM&#8217;s EarthFest, Our Climate Change Legacy summit for elders, Detroit March for Justice.<\/li>\n<li>We scheduled a presentation on November 14 for the Adrian Dominican Sisters.<\/li>\n<li>DG submitted an op-ed to the Detroit News, which has not been published so far.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>We brainstormed ways to do outreach and recruit new members.\u00a0 Here are some of the ideas we came up with:\n<ul>\n<li>Put on a skit about climate change \/ CCL at a coffee shop, such as Espresso Royale.<\/li>\n<li>Climate Trivia night at Conor O&#8217;Neill&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Host a Green Drinks evening<\/li>\n<li>Host a screening of <i>Merchants of Doubt <\/i>or <i>This Changes Everything.<\/i> Possible locations\/partners: School of Natural Resources and the Environment, UM student groups (Divest &amp; Invest, Students for Clean Energy), Ann Arbor Public Library, UU Church.<\/li>\n<li>Talk to family, friends and colleagues; ask them to go to the CCL website and click on the red Join CCL button to demonstrate support.
